With a crystal blue eyes and a friendly peaceful charm. That is Agnija Grigule who is a raising photographer, stylist and model in Latvian fashion industry. Getting experience by participating in different fashion projects, Agnija currently has taken a year off after graduating high school to explore the world and find her ultimate passion.

Agnija has been doing photography since she was seven years old. Initially she was taking photos of her friends and family but it all got more serious when she was asked by the creator of QooQoo Alona Bauska to photograph her newest collection ‘Crimson Decay’. ’I was very pleased to do the shooting for QooQoo and I enjoyed every second of it. Moreover, after this project I got recognized in the industry so it turned out to be a successful cooperation for both myself and Alona’ explains Agnija.

Another important project where Agnija had the opportunity to test herself was for a book of Latvian writer Nils Sakss called ‘Poēma par 12 ziloņiem’. She had to reflect a scene of criminal youngsters breaking into the zoo, getting wild in the party and getting caught by the police. ‘It was a very difficult shoot’ says Agnija ‘it was minus 15 degrees outside and we photographed for 19 hours straight’. However, the result was outstanding and Agnija has received more offers than ever before since the shoot.

Apart from working as a photographer, Agnija is also a model and has spent six months abroad in Japan, China and South Korea shooting for editorials and lookbooks. ‘When I model, it really helps me to be able to understand how the photographer sees me in the shoot. When I pose, I look how close the lens is, what is the angle, light and I adjust my pose accordingly. I know what the photographer sees through the camera so it is easier to pose’.

Agnija is sure that she belongs in art, fashion and show business industry however it is still unclear what profession she wants to take up the most. Not only she has assisted Ivo Nikkolo editorial shoot, photographed Alexander Wang collection for H&M Latvia and photographed model tests for Dandy and Vacatio but also posed for Latvian fashion magazines herself and taught other models. Brillante wishes Agnija to find the perfect carreer path and cannot wait to see what future holds for her.
